Memorial Day Weekend truly launched the summer season here in Boston. There were hot, sunny days with plenty of fun things to do, time to relax, and time to slow down and reflect. Next weekend is lining up to be equally enticing, though considerably more chill if you plan on a stroll through the Beacon Hill Art Walk.

The Art Walk is a long-standing tradition on the Hill during which all are invited to mosey through private gardens and back patios on Beacon Hill to visit about 70 artists displaying their work, and I will be there! The event takes place on Sunday, June 5th from noon to 6pm.

Here’s why I love this event already:

  • You can set your own pace. It starts at noon, so you can sleep in some, get brunch, then wander as long as you’d like. To start the day I recommend The Paramount down on Charles Street. Great savory brunch options and the Fresh Caramel & Banana French Toast is awesome (trust me).
  • All of the artwork is original. The event is specifically designed to showcase unique works of art. No prints, cards, t-shirts or mass-produced items are available. This is a great place to add to your art collection or to connect with an artist and make your very first fine art purchase.
  • We’ll have musicians! There will be about six different musical acts playing at any given time among the brownstones and gardens. Take a break in the shade and soak up some sweet notes while you’re there.
  • You’ll be taking a walk through a gorgeous neighborhood with lots to see. There are lovely places to stop and have coffee and treats, like Tatte Bakery & Cafe (right across from where I'll be at 127 Mount Vernon St.). What more could you ask for on a Sunday afternoon?

White Mtn Mini 15: Percy PeaksWhite Mtn Mini 15: Percy Peaks4"x6" Oil on gallery wrapped canvas. March 2015. The original painting is available in my on-line retail store.
The Percy Peaks lie in the far northern reaches of New Hampshire, beyond the White Mountains in Stratford, N.H. This painting joins both my landscape series and works I've done based on historical photos. This scene was taken from an image from the 1950s.

Prints are made from very high quality scans. PRINTS ORDERED LARGER THAN THE ORIGINAL PAINTING WILL ALSO SHOW ENLARGED FINE DETAIL, INCLUDING PAPER FIBERS, CANVAS WEAVE & BRUSH STROKES.

Make a date of it!

Stop by to see me and a variety of small and large oil paintings and watercolors from my studio. I will be at 127 Mount Vernon Street, a short walk from the Charles/MGH Red Line stop and the Charles Street Parking Garage. You can find a "Rainy Day" map for the event and more details here!

See you Sunday!
